The correct answer is the Thyroid ​gland. 

  • Thyroid Gland:
    • It is situated in a windpipe near the neck.
    • The thyroid gland secretes thyroid hormones, which control the speed at which the body’s chemical functions proceed with metabolism, growth, etc.
    • It is the largest endocrine gland in the body. It locates on the Anterior to the trachea(Two lobes).
    • The two types of thyroid hormones are: 
      • T3 Triiodothyronine​​​​
      • T4 Thyroxine
    • It regulates the metabolic rate, maintains normal body temperature.

  • Pituitary Gland:
    • ​The pituitary gland is also known as the master gland.
    • The hormones secreted by the pituitary are protein (Peptides) or glycoproteins
