The volume of a pyramid with a square base is 2352 cubic cm. The height of the pyramid is 16 cm. what will be the approximate length of the slant edges of the pyramid?

Correct Answer - Option 2 : 22

Given:

Volume of a pyramid with square base = 2058 cubic cm

Height of the pyramid =16 cm

Formula Used:

V = (1/3) × Area of base × height

Calculation:

V = (1/3) × Area of base × height

⇒ 2352 = (1/3) × a2 × 16 

a2 = 441

a = 21 cm

(Slant edge)2 = h2 + (Diagonal of base/2)2

(Slant edge)2 = 162 + (√2 × 21/2)2

(Slant edge)2 = 256 + 220.5 = 476.5

Slant edge ≈ 22 cm

The approximate value of slant edge is 22 cm.
