The curved surface area and the slant height of a right circular cone are 363 cm2 and 11 cm respectively. Find the diameter.

Correct Answer - Option 2 : 21 cm

Given:

Curved surface area = 363 cm2

Slant height = 11 cm

Formula used:

The curved surface area of cone = πrl

Where, r = Radius, l = Slant height

Calculation:

The curved surface area of cone = (22/7) × r × (11)

⇒ 363 = (22/7) × r × (11)

⇒ r = (363 × 7)/(22 × 11)

⇒ r = (33 × 7)/22

⇒ r = (3 × 7)/2

⇒ r = 21/2

Now, Diameter = 2 × r

⇒ Diameter = 2 × (21/2)

⇒ 21 cm

∴ The diameter of right circular cone is 21 cm.
