Correct Answer - Option 4 : Rs. 1080

Given:

Rs. 6120 is divided among three person A, B and C in a way that A get 2/3 of B and B gets 1/4 of C

Calculation:

According to the question, we have

A = (2/3)B

⇒ A : B = 2 : 3      ----(1)

And, B = (1/4)C

⇒ B : C = 1 : 4      ----(2)

From equation (1) and equation (2), we have

A B C
2 3 3
1 1 4
2 × 1 = 2 3 × 1 = 3 3 × 4 = 12

A : B : C = 2 : 3 : 12

Let amount that A, B and C get is 2x, 3x and 12x respectively

Then according to the question, we have

2x + 3x + 12x = Rs. 6120

⇒ 17x = Rs. 6120

⇒ x = Rs. 6120/17

⇒ x = Rs. 360

So, the share of B = 3x

⇒ Rs. (3 × 360)

⇒ Rs. 1080

∴ The share of B is Rs. 1080.
