  • On 1 September 1798, the Nizam of Hyderabad, Nizam Ali Khan (Asaf Jah II) entered into a subsidiary alliance with the English East India Company, thus making Hyderabad the first princely state to officially become a British protectorate. Hence, Option 1 is correct.
  • The Wahhabi movement was popularized in India by Shah Waliullah Dehlawi in the 18th century.
  • Mubarez-ud-Daulah was inspired by the Wahhabi movement.
  • He had hated the presence of the British in Hyderabad State since his childhood. 
  • On 15 June 1839, Mubarez-ud-Daulah was arrested from his palace by Nizams troops. Along with him, forty-six Wahhabi preachers were arrested from HyderabadHence, Option 2 is correct.
