Correct Answer - Option 1 : 24

Given that:

The sum of the present ages of the father and his son is 60 years.

Let the age of father be x and son be y years.

⇒ x + y = 60 → i)

A.T.Q

2 years ago,

x - 2 = 3 (y - 2)

x - 2 = 3y - 6

x - 3y = -4 → i)

Subtracting eq ii) from i) we get:-

4y = 64

y = 16

Present age of the son = 16 years

The age of the son after eight years = 16 + 8 = 24 years.

Hence, the correct answer is "24".
