The dynamic viscosity of the fluid is 0.7 poise and specific gravity is 0.8, then the kinematic viscosity of the fluid in stokes is:

Correct Answer - Option 3 :  0.87

Concept:

\(kinematic~ viscosity= \frac {dynamic ~ viscocity}{density ~of ~fluid}\)

\(ν = \frac {μ}{ρ }\)

density = specific gravity × 1000

Calculation:

Given:

μ = 0.7 poise = 0.07 kg/ms, specific gravity = 0.8, 

∴ ρ = 0.8 × 1000 = 800 kg/m3

\(ν = \frac {μ}{ρ }\)

\(ν = \frac {0.07}{800}=0.87 \times 10^{-4}=0.87 \) stokes
