Correct Answer - Option 2 : 28

Given:

The present age of P ∶ Q = 7 ∶ 3

After four years age of P ∶ Q = 2 ∶ 1

Calculation:

P ∶ Q = 7 ∶ 3

Let the age of P and Q be 7x and 3x

According to the question, we have

(7x + 4)/(3x + 4) = 2/1

⇒ 7x + 4 = 6x + 8

⇒ 7x - 6x = 8 - 4

⇒ x = 4

Now,

The present age of P = 7x

⇒ 7 × 4

⇒ 28

∴ The present age of P is 28 years.
