Correct Answer - Option 1 : R. E. Horton
  • The Hydraulic Slope Theory was propounded by R. E. Horton.
  • The term slope in its broadest sense means an element of the earth's solid surface, including both terrestrial and submarine surfaces; it is, therefore, simply an element of the interface between the lithosphere and either hydrosphere or atmosphere.
  • Slope elements are assumed to be of small, but unspecified, dimensions. As finite surfaces in space, slope elements may be planar, cylindrical, conical, spherical, or of any other configuration, including highly irregular forms.
  • The science of geomorphology as a whole is concerned with slopes and their history, including slopes produced by exogenous (external) processes and endogenous (internal) processes of vulcanism, orogeny, and epeirogeny.
