Correct Answer - Option 2 : 24 %

Given∶

A 20 litre drink contains 30% champagne and 70% soda.

5 litres of soda is added to drink.

Formula Used∶

Basics of percentage.

Calculation∶

Amount of champagne in 20 L drink = 30% of 20

⇒ 30/100 × 20 = 6 L

Amount of soda in 20 L drink = 20 - 6 = 14 L

After addition of 5 L soda,

Total amount of drink = 25 L

Percentage of soda in new drink = (14 + 5) / 25 = 19/25 = 0.76 = 76 %

Percentage of champagne in new drink = 1 - 0.76 = 0.24 = 24%

∴ The correct option is (2).
