Correct Answer - Option 3 : 3 ∶ 2

Given

The Ratio of Alcohol and water in two pots respectively = 2 ∶ 3 and 4 ∶ 1

Calculation

Let the quantity of mixture in each pot = x liters

Then the quantity of alcohol in each pot respectively = (2/5)x, and (4/5)x

And the quantity of water in each pot respectively = (3/5)x, and (1/5)x

Required ratio = [(2/5)x + (4/5)x] ∶ [(3/5)x + (1/5)x]

⇒ (6x/5) ∶ (4x/5) = 3 ∶ 2

The ratio of Alcohol and water in new mixture is 3 : 2.
