Correct Answer - Option 3 : 27.6%

Given:

Total number of students = 2500

% of boys = 40%

% of girls = 60%

% of boys passed = 88%

% of girls passed = 62%

Calculation:

Number of boys = (40/100) × 2500

= 1000

Number of girls = 2500 - 1000 = 1500

Number of boys passed = (88/100) × 1000 = 880

Number of girls passed = (62/100) × 1500 = 930

Total number of students passed = 880 + 930 = 1810

Number of students who failed = 2500 - 1810 = 690

Percentage of students who failed = (690/2500) × 100 = 27.6%

∴ Percentage of students who failed is 27.6%
