  •  Kailasha Temple Ellora
    • The Kailasha Temple is the largest of the rock-cut Hindu temples at the Ellora Caves, Maharashtra.
    • It is considered one of the most remarkable cave temples in the world because of its size, architecture and sculptural treatment, and the climax of the rock-cut phase of Indian architecture.
    • The Kailasa temple is the largest of the 34 Buddhist, Jain, and Hindu cave temples and monasteries known collectively as the Ellora Caves, ranging for over 2 kilometers along the sloping basalt cliff at the site.
    • The temple architecture shows traces of Pallava and Chalukya styles.
    • The temple contains a number of relief and free-standing sculptures on a grand scale equal to the architecture, though only traces remain of the paintings which originally decorated it.
  • Krishna I
    • Krishna I took charge of the growing Rashtrakuta Empire by defeating the last Badami Chalukya ruler Kirtivarman II in 757.
    • He is also known as Kannada or Kannesvara and took the titles Akalavarsha, Shubatunga, Prithvivallabha, and Shrivallabha.
    • He patronized the famous Jain logician Akalanka Bhatta, the author of Rajavartika.
    • He successfully fought the Western Ganga Dynasty King Sripurusha and the Shilaharas of South Konkan.
    • He was responsible for building 18 shiva temples.

  • Mahendra Verman
    • Mahendravarman was a Pallava king who ruled the Southern portion of the present-day Andhra region and Northern regions of what forms present-day Tamil Nadu in India.
    • He was initially a patron of Jainism but he converted into the Saiva faith under the influence of the Saiva saint Appar.
    • He was the son of Simhavishnu, who defeated the Kalabhras and re-established the Pallava kingdom.
    • Mahendravarma was succeeded to the throne by his more famous son Narasimhavarman in 630 CE.
  • Rajendra Chola
    • He was a Tamil Chola emperor of South India who succeeded his father Rajaraja Chola to the throne in 1014 CE.
    • He spent most of his childhood in Palayarai and was brought up by his aunt Kundavai and great-grandmother Sembiyan Mahadevi.
    • He installed his eldest son Rajadhiraja Chola I as the crown prince.
