Correct Answer - Option 3 : 16

BY using option method

Area of rectangle = Length × breadth

Area of square = (side)2

(1) = 4

Let area of square = 4

Side = 2

Length of Rectangle = 6 + 2 = 8 cm

Breadth of Rectangle = 2 + 2 = 4

Area of rectangle = 4 × 8 = 32 which is not equal to 60

∴ option 1 is not correct

(2) = 9

Let area of square = 9

Side = 3

Length of Rectangle = 6 + 3 = 9 cm

Breadth of Rectangle = 2 + 3 = 5 cm

Area of rectangle = 9 × 5 = 45 which is not equal to 60

∴ option 2 is not correct

(3) = 16

Let area of square = 16

Side = 4

Length of Rectangle = 6 + 4 = 10 cm

Breadth of Rectangle = 2 + 4 = 6

Area of rectangle = 10 × 6 = 60 which is equal to given area of rectangle

∴ option 3 is correct
