Correct Answer - Option 4 : 225 meters

Given:

Speed of two trains running in the same direction = 90 km/hr and 60 km/hr

Time taken by faster train to crossed the slower train = 27 sec

Concept used:

Distance = Speed × Time

Relative speed of 2 bodies = Sum of their individual speeds if they are moving in the opposite direction and Difference of their individuals speeds if they are moving in the same direction

Calculation:

Relative speed of faster train = (90 – 60) km/hr

⇒ 30 km/hr = (30 × 5/18) m/s

⇒ 25/3 m/s

∴ Length of faster train = (27 × 25/3) m/s

⇒ 225 meters

∴ Length of faster train is 225 meters
