Correct Answer - Option 1 : 500 km

Given:

Ratio of speed of the two trains = 5 : 7

Second train covers 280 km in 2 hours

Formula used:

Speed = Distance/Time

Calculation:

Speed of the second train = 280/2 = 140 km/h

Speed of the second train = (140/7) × 5 = 100 km/h

Distance covered by first train in 5 hours = 100 × 5 = 500 km

The distance covered by first train in 5 hours is 500 km.
