Correct Answer - Option 2 : B and C

Given:

Speed of X in the whole journey = 60 km/h

Calculation:

Let 4x be the total time of the journey

⇒ Total distance = 60 × 4x = 240x

In first case

Distance covered = (2/5) × 240x = 96x

Time taken = (1/4) × 4x = x

Speed in first case = 96x/x = 96 km/h

In second case

Distance covered = 240x – 96x = 144x

Time taken = 4x – x = 3x

Speed in second case = 144x/3x = 48 km/h

B. (2/8) of (3/4) of 256

⇒ (3/16) × 256

⇒ 48

B is correct

C. 48

C is correct

∴ B and C are correct.
