Correct Answer - Option 3 : 11 : 19

Given

Part of milk in the first and second bucket respectively = (1/3)rd and (2/5)th

Formula used

Quantity of cheaper / Quantity of dearer = (Price of dearer - Average price) / (Average price - Price of cheaper)

Calculation

Part of water in first bucket = 1 – (1/3) = 2/3

Part of water in second bucket = 1 – (2/5) = 3/5

Part of milk in final mixture= (1/3) + (2/5) = 11/15

Part of water in final mixture= (2/3) + (3/5) = 19/15

Required ratio of mil and water in new bucket = (11/15) : (19/15) = 11 : 19

∴ The required ratio is 11 19.
