Correct Answer - Option 3 : 350/3

Given:

A mixture costing Rs. 40 per kg is to be mixed with another 70 kg of mixture B priced at Rs. 80 per kg

Formula:

Ratio of two quantities = (Dearer price - mean)/(mean – cheaper price)

Calculation:

Let the amount to be added be x.

We can apply allegation

     40                    80
                  55
      x                    70
(80 - 55)/(55 - 40) = x/70

⇒ 25/15 = x/70

⇒ 5/3 = x/70

⇒ x = 350/3 litres
