Correct Answer - Option 4 : 4

Given :

i) A person has to buy both apples and mangoes.

ii) The cost of an apple is Rs. 7, whereas the cost of a mango is Rs. 5.

iii) Amount he has is Rs.38.

So the number of apples he buy is 38/7 = 5.42

Approximately he buy 5 apples but this doesn't make money left for the mangoes

So, he buy 4 apples i.e,

⇒ Cost of 4 apples = 7 × 4 = Rs. 28

⇒ Amount left is 38 - 28 = 10

Cost of 2 mangoes = 2 × 5 = Rs. 10

So, he buy 2 mangoes

Therefore, The number of Apple he buy is 4.

Hence, the correct answer is "4".
