Concept:

The power required for cutting material during the machining process can be evaluated using the below expression:

P = F × V

where, F = cutting force in machining and V = velocity of cutting

Calculation:

Given:

The cutting force during machining, F = 20 N and the velocity of cutting, V = 5 m/s.

∴ The power required, P = F × V

⇒ P = 20 × 5 = 100 W

∴ The power required for the machining is 100 W.
