Correct Answer - Option 2 : 24.2

Concept:

Shortest processing time: In the SPT rule, jobs are sequenced in increasing order of their processing time, i.e. minimum time first and maximum time in last.

Note: If two jobs have the same process time then job having less due date will be processed first.

Calculation:

Given:

The jobs are to be scheduled using the shortest processing time (SPT) sequence.

Job Time Completion time ( Ci )
II 4 4
III 7 11
V 11 22
I 13 35
IV 14 49
    ∑Ci = 121

Mean completion time = \(\frac{\sum C_i}{n}\) \(\frac{121}{5}\) = 24.2 min
