Correct Answer - Option 4 : 30 seconds

Given:

Length of train = 240m

Speed of train = 60kmph = 60 × 5/18 = 50/3 m/s

Length of the platform = 260 m

Concept Used:

Time taken to cross a platform = (length of train + length of the platform)/speed of the train

Calculation:

Time required = (240 + 260)/(50/3) = 500/(50/3)

⇒ Time = 30 seconds

∴ In 30 seconds the train will cross the platform of length 260m.
