Correct Answer - Option 3 : 100 gm

Given:

Quantity of the alloy = 200 g

Gold : Silver = 2 : 3

Calculation:

Let the quantity of Gold to be added to alloy to make the ratio 3 : 2  be X

Quantity of Gold in alloy = (2/5) × 200 = 80 g

And quantity of Silver in alloy = (3/5) × 200 g

According to question,

(80 + X)/120 = 3/2

⇒ 80 + x = 180

⇒ x = 100 g

∴ The quantity of Gold to be added is 100 gm.
