Concept:

According to IS: 10719557 - 1970, following classification has been made for bricks on the basis of compressive strength:

Classification Compressive Strength
Grade A-A > 140 kg/cm2
Grade A > 105 kg/cm2
Grade B > 70 kg/cm2
Grade C > 35 kg/cm2

  • Grade A brick is also known as First Class Brick
  • Grade B brick is also known as Second Class Brick
  • Grade C brick is also known as Third Class Brick
