Correct Answer - Option 2 : Allahabad Pillar inscription

The correct answer is Allahabad Pillar inscription.

  • Kamarupa in Assam, Samatata in Bengal, Kartripura in Punjab, and Rohilkhand were the frontier states captured by Samudragupta.
  • After these conquests, Samudragupta commemorated his victory by performing the "Ashwamedha sacrifice." He was given the name "Ashwamedha Parakrama." He made gold coins with a horse motif on them.
  • They were one of his eight different types of gold coins. From Kashmir in the north to Tamilnadu in the south, and from Punjab in the west to Bengal in the east, his empire stretched.
  • Samudragupta was a musician, poet, scholar, and patron of literature in addition to being a conqueror. He was known as "Kaviraja."
  • The inscription on the Allahabad Pillar, a prashasti (eulogy) written by his courtier Harishena, honors him with numerous military victories.
  • It appears that he defeated and annexed the domains of several northern Indian kings to his dominion. He also marched up India's south-eastern coast, reaching the Pallava empire in the process.
