  • In 2016 first Uttar Pradesh Pravasi Diwas was organized jointly by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) from 4th to 6th January and was hosted by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in ITC Mughal at Agra.
  • To reflect the achievement and economic potential of Uttar Pradesh an exhibition was organized by the State Government.
  • The Uttar Pradesh Ratna Award was awarded by the Chief Minister of UP to 16 NRI (Non-Resident Indian) / PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) for their significant contributions in different fields. 
  • It is celebrated annually.
