Correct Answer - Option 1 : Rs.330

Given∶

Ratio of their capitals = 4  ∶ 5

Elan withdraw 1/4 of his Capital.

Ambani withdraw 1/5 of his capital.

Profit = Rs.760

Formula Used∶

Basics of ratios.

a ∶ b can be written as ax and bx, where x is a positive integer.

Calculation∶

Ratio of the initial capital of Elan and Ambani = 4  ∶ 5

Let the initial capitals of Elan and Ambani be 4x and 5x

Ratio in which profit will be divided,

⇒ [(4x × 3) + (4x - 1/4 × 4x ) × 7] ∶ [5x × 3 +(5x - 1/5 × 5x) × 7]

⇒ (12x + 2/x) ∶ (15x + 28x)

⇒ 33x ∶ 43x

⇒ 33 ∶ 43

So, Elan's share = 760 × 33/76 = Rs.330

∴ In the given profit, Elan's share is of Rs.330.
