Correct Answer - Option 4 : 12 months

Given:

A and B invest in the ratio of 3 : 7

At the end of 8 months, B withdraws all his investment.

They receive profits in the ratio of 9 : 14

Formula used:

Profit = Investment × Time period of investment

Calculation:

Let T be the time of investment of A

Profit of A = 3x × T

Profit of B = 7x × 8

(3x × T)/(7x × 8) = 9/14

⇒ 3T/8 = 9/2

⇒ T/4 = 3

⇒ T = 12

A’s investment was used for 12 months.
