Correct Answer - Option 3 : The idea of residuary power

Many provisions of the Indian Constitution is borrowed from other constitution but the Indian Constitution is Indian in character. We just borrowed these provisions and molded them as per the Indian requirement.

Features adopted from the British Constitution are -

  • Parliamentary government
  • Rule of Law
  • Legislative procedure
  • Single Citizenship
  • Cabinet system
  • Prerogative writs
  • Parliamentary privileges
  • Bicameralism

Thus, we can say that the idea of residuary power is not adopted from British Constitution as it is borrowed from the Canadian Constitution.
