Correct Answer - Option 2 : Only argument 1 is strong.

Statement: Should candidates be barred from contesting elections if criminal charges are pending against them in a court of law?

Argument:

1.  Yes, these people should not be allowed to contest elections, because they have already violated the law, if they are elected then the violations will continue at a fast pace - Yes these people have already committed a crime, and it is not good for a public servant. Therefore, Argument 1 is strong.

2. No, they are authorized to contest elections by the respective political parties - It does not clarify the statements. Therefore, Argument 2 is Weak.

Hence, "Only argument 1 is strong".
