Correct Answer - Option 2 : 57

Given:

Ratio between the present age of x and y = 5 : 3

Difference of their present age = 36

Calculation:

Let the age of x and y be 5k and 3k respectively.

According to the question,

Difference of their present age = 5k ─ 3k = 36

⇒ 2k = 36

⇒ k = 18

After 3 years, age of y = 3k + 3

⇒ 3(18) + 3

⇒ 54 + 3

⇒ 57

∴ The age of y after 3 years will be 57 years.
