Correct Answer - Option 1 : 20 m

Concept:

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Calculation:

Half of the perimeter of rectangular garden = 36 m

⇒ Perimeter of the rectangular garden = 36 × 2 = 72 m

Let the breadth be x m.

⇒ Length = (x + 4) m

We know that,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

⇒ 72 = 2(x + 4 + x)

⇒ 36 = 2x + 4

⇒ 2x = 32

⇒ x = 16

⇒ Length of the rectangular garden = x + 4 = 16 + 4 = 20 m

Hence, the length of the garden is 20 m.
