Correct Answer - Option 1 : 7 and 28 years

Let the age of son be x

Age of Father = 4x

4 years hence,

Age of son = x + 4

Age of Father = 4x + 4

According to question,

Age of Father after 4 years + Age of Son after 4 years = 43

⇒ 4x + 4 + x + 4 = 43

⇒ 5x + 8 = 43

⇒ 5x = 43 - 8

⇒ 5x = 35

⇒ x = 35 ÷ 5

⇒ x = 7

So, Age of son = x = 7 years

Age of Father = 4x = 4 × 7 = 28 years

Hence, 7 and 28 years is the correct answer.
