Let the present age of Jegan and Bala be 4x and 5x respectively.

After 8 years,

Age of Jegan = 4x + 8

Age of Bala = 5x + 8

According to question,

Jegan's age after 8 years = 28

4x + 8 = 28

4x = 28 - 8 

4x = 20

x = 20 ÷ 4

x = 5 

So, present age of Bala = 5x = 5 × 5 = 25 years

Hence, 25 years is the correct answer.
