  • But its commissioning has been postponed to 2014 due to environmental and geographical hurdles faced during its construction.

Nathpa Jhakri

It is a concrete gravity dam on the Sutlej river in Himachal Pradesh, India.

The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power production and it supplies a 1,500 megawatts underground power station with water.

Sanjay Vidyut Project

It  is located in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh.

It is erected on the river Bhaba, which is an entire underground project with a total installed capacity of 120 Megawatt, containing 3 units each of 40 Megawatt.

The exceptionality of this project lies in its underground switchyard.

The power project is completed and became operational in the year, 1989- 1990, the evaluated cost was almost INR 167 crores.
