Correct Answer - Option 1 : 3000
Given
A sum of Rs.5000 is lent at two parts in such a way that first part at 4% and second at 5% per annum. If total interest received after two years is 440.
Concept used
Si = P × R × T / 100
Calculation
Let the sum of P be lent at the rate of 4% and (5000 - P) at 5%
As per the question
⇒ \(\frac{{p \times 4 \times 2}}{{100}} + \frac{{\left( {5000 - p} \right) \times 5 \times 2}}{{100}} = 440\)
⇒ \(\frac{{8p}}{{100}} + \frac{{\left( {5000 - p} \right)10}}{{100}} = 44000\)
⇒ 8p + 50000 - 10p = 44000
⇒ 2p = 6000
⇒ p = 3000
⇒ (5000 - p) = 5000 - 3000 = 2000
The two ratios are 3000 : 2000
The sum lent at 4% = Rs.3000
