Correct Answer - Option 3 : 30 cm

Given:

The area of a trapezium = 714 cm2

height = 28 cm

The difference in the length of parallel side = 9 cm

Formula Used:

The area of trapezium = 1/2 × (Sum of parallel sides) × Height

Calculation:

Let assume that the measurement of one parallel side be a

The second side be a + 9

The area of trapezium = 1/2 × (Sum of parallel sides) × Height

⇒ 714 = 1/2 × (a + a + 9) × 28

⇒ a = 21 cm

⇒ The measurement of one parallel side is 21 cm

⇒ The measurement of second parallel side is = 21 + 9 = 30 cm

∴ The measurement of longer side is 30 cm

The correct option is 3 i.e. 30 cm
