Correct Answer - Option 2 : Rs. 4,000

Given:

The incomes of A and B are in the ratio 3 : 2.

The expenditure of A and B are in the ratio 5 : 3.

The saving of each is Rs. 1000

Concept Used:

Income = Expenditure + Saving

Calculation:

Let the income of A and B be 3x and 2x

The expenditure of A = 3x - 1000

The expenditure of B = 2x - 1000

According to the question;

⇒ (3x - 1000)/(2x - 1000) = 5/3

⇒ 9x - 3000 = 10x - 5000

⇒ x = 2000

The income of B = 2 × 2000 = Rs. 4,000

∴ The income of B is Rs. 4,000.
