Correct Answer - Option 4 : Rs. 22,500

Given:

Karan spends 20% of his income

Money left = Rs. 7200

Concept used:

Income = Expenditure + Saving

Calculation:

Let the total income is Rs. x

Money sends = 20% of x

⇒ 20x/100

Money left = x - 20% of x

⇒ 80x/100

Money spends 60% of remaining = 60% of (80x/100)

⇒48x/100

According to question

x - (20x/100) - (48x/100) = 7200

⇒ (x - 68x/100) = 7200

⇒ 32x/100 = 7200

⇒ x = (7200 × 100)/32

⇒ x = 22,500

∴ Total income is Rs. 22,500
