Given :

3 men and 5 women do a piece of work in 8 days and 2 men and 7 children do the same in 12 days.

Concept used :

Total work = Person's capacity × Number of persons 

Calculations :

Let the capacity of men, women and child be m unit, w unit and c unit

According to the question 

(3m + 5w) × 8 = (2m + 7c) × 12 

⇒ 24m + 40w = 24m + 84c 

⇒ 40w = 84c 

⇒ 10w = 21c

⇒ 10 women = 21 children 

10 women can do work as 21 children in 1 day.

∴ Option 3 is the correct answer.
