Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 1 : 400

Given:

Marks scored in Accounts = 21%

Marks scored in Economics = 24%

Marks scored in English = 15%

Difference of score in Hindi and English = 36

Calculation:

Let the total score be 100x then

Account = 21%, Economics = 24%, English = 15%

Total = 21x + 24x + 15x

⇒ 60x

Remaining score = 100x – 60x

⇒ 40x

Score in Business Studies = 40x × 40%

⇒ 16x

Score in Hindi = 40x – 16x = 24x

Difference of score in Hindi and English = 24x – 15x

⇒ 9x

Value of  9x = 36

⇒ x = 36/9

⇒ 4

Total number of marks = 100x

⇒ 100 × 4

⇒ 400

Total number of marks in the exam is 400.
