The correct answer is No.

  • Single Citizenship rule in India 
    • ​​The constitution provides for single citizenship for the whole of India.
    • According to the Indian constitution, a person can only be a citizen of one country at a time and if the person takes the citizenship of another country, then his Indian citizenship ends.
  • Indian Citizenship Act 
    • Indian Citizenship Act was passed in 1955.
    • According to Article 5, all the people that were residents in India at the commencement of the Constitution were citizens of India as well as the people born in India and either of whose parents are born in the territory of India. 
    • The President is termed as the First Citizen of India.

  • Part II and Articles 5-11 of the Constitution of India deals with the citizenship of India.
  • The Parliament of India has sole authority to regulate the right of citizenship under article 11.
