Correct Answer - Option 1 : 1156 cm2

Given:

The perimeter of the two squares are 72 cm and 64 cm.

Formula used:

The perimeter of the square = 4 × side

Area of square = (side)2

Calculation:

Sum of perimeter of given square = 72 + 64 = 136 cm

Let the side of the third square be 's'

Now, the perimeter of the third square = 4s

And, 4s = 136 cm

⇒ s = 136/4 = 34 cm

Area of third square = (34)2 = 1156 cm2

∴ The area of the third square is 1156 cm2.
