Correct Answer - Option 3 : 9 cm

Given:

Area of Trapezium = 88 cm2

Height = 16 cm

Difference of parallel sides = 7 cm

Formula Used:

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × Sum of parallel sides × Height

Calculation:

Let assume one of the parallel sides be x

Second parallel side = y

⇒ Difference of parallel sides = (x - y) = 7                 ...................(1)

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × Sum of parallel sides × Height

⇒ 88 = 1/2 × (x + y) × 16

⇒ 11 = (x + y)                                 ............................(2)

From equation (1) and (2)

⇒ x = 9

⇒ y = 2

∴ Measurement of longer side is 9 cm.

The correct option is 3 i.e. 9 cm
