Correct Answer - Option 1 : 101000

Given:

Decimal number 40

Concept used:

A decimal number has base 10 and a binary number has base 2.

In decimal to binary conversion, the base of the number also changes from base 10 to base 2.

Calculation :

Step 1) Take decimal number 40 (base 10) as a dividend.

Step 2) To convert to binary, Divide 40 by 2 (2 is base of binary so divisor here)

& keep the remainder  in a line

Repeat the above step 2) until the number is greater than zero

Dividend/2 = Quotient

Remainder (R)

40/2 = 20

0

20/2 = 10

0

10/2 = 5

0

5/2 = 2

1

2/2 = 1

0

1/2 = 0

1

Step 3) Keep all reminders in reverse order as a single number, i.e 101000

That will be equivalent binary number to above decimal number 40

∴ The binary form of given decimal number 40 is 101000
