Calculation:

Average = (43 + 47 + 36 + 39 + x)/5

⇒ 44 = (165 + x)/5

⇒ 44 × 5 = 165 + x

⇒ 220 = 165 + x

⇒ 220 - 165 = x

⇒ 55 = x

∴ The value of x is 55.
