Given,

Total persons consists of captains and soldiers  = 1200 persons 

15 soldiers = 1 captain 

Calculation : 

1 group = 15 + 1 = 16 

that  means 

16 persons = 1 group

1200 persons = 1200 / 16 = 75 groups 

∴ The number of captains is 75.
