Correct Answer - Option 3 : D.N.A. Test

The correct answer is D.N.A. Test.

  • Two women put a claim over a child as a mother; the D.N.A. test can prove this claim to be true.
  • Genetic testing is also known as DNA testing and is used to identify the changes in DNA sequence or chromosome structure.
  • Genetic tests are performed on a sample of blood, hair, skin, amniotic fluid, or other tissue.

  • Types of genetic tests are:
    • Newborn screening - This is used just after birth to identify genetic disorders that can be treated early in life.
    • Diagnostic testing - This is used to identify or rule out a specific genetic or chromosomal condition.
    • Carrier testing - This is used to identify people who carry one copy of a gene mutation that, when present in two copies, causes a genetic disorder.
    • Prenatal testing - This is used to detect changes in a fetus's genes or chromosomes before birth.
    • Preimplantation testing - This is also called preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), is a specialized technique that can reduce the risk of having a child with a particular genetic or chromosomal disorder.
    • Predictive and presymptomatic test - This type of testing is used to detect gene mutations associated with disorders that appear after birth, often later in life.
    • Forensic testing - This is used DNA sequences to identify an individual for legal purposes.
