  • Ramman is one of the religious and ritual festivals in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand at the twin villages of Saloor-Dungra in the Chamoli district.
  • The Ramman festival is mainly celebrated in April month of the year at the time of the Baisakhi festival ( Baisakh in local Garhwalidialectt).
  • Ramman is celebrated for 11 days or sometimes 13 days.
  • The Ramman festival is performed as an offering to the village deity called ‘Bhumiya Devta’ in the courtyard of Bhumiya Devta temple.

  • Choliya dance is a famous folk dance of Uttarakhand and is organized every year in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.

  • The Choliya dance presents the scene of post-war celebrations.
  • All dance artists disguise mythical soldiers and perform battle with sword and shield.
